(Redmond, WA) -- An Oregon elementary school teacher is facing attempted rape charges in Washington state. Undercover officers in Redmond posed as a 14-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl and communicated with Andrew Hammond, 50, online through social networking websites. According to arrest records, Hammond engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the detectives and proposed meeting with the underage girls at a motel to engage in sexual activity. He was arrested at the hotel. Officers also executed a search warrant on his vehicle--reportedly finding condoms, lubricant, handcuffs and duct tape.

Hammond was booked at the King County Jail on charges of Attempted second degree Rape of a Child, Attempted third degree Rape of a Child and four counts of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.

The McMinnville School District in Oregon where Hammond works says he is on administrative leave.
