Male Suspect Shot by Wenatchee Police After Opening Fire in Church

(Wenatchee, WA) -- One man is dead after allegedly opening fire inside a Wenatchee church. Police were called to Living Hope Church on North Chelan Avenue and Palouse Street just before 8:30am Saturday morning. Responding officers fatally shot and killed the suspect. One officer was also shot in the leg and injured during the exchange.

Undersheriff Tyler Caille with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave. The North Central Washington Special Investigation Unit has taken control of the investigation
