OLYMPIA, Wash.--Several members of the Washington State House Republican Caucus have a penned a letter to Governor Jay Inslee asking him to reconsider his mandate requiring masks for all students across the state. Led by Rep. Joe Schmick of Colfax, the Republican group is now urging the governor to give more weight to local control and parental input.

"The one-size-fits-all mandate that we're seeing emanating from Olympia does not fit the needs and desires of all school districts, especially those in smaller communities like Endicott and Garfield." Said Schmick.

Governor Inslee passed another mandate on Monday, which will soon require most state employees, on-site contractors, and workers in private healthcare to be vaccinated as a condition of employment.
