(Kennewick, WA) -- Hundreds of community members crossed the Cable Bridge on foot Friday, in an effort to bring attention to the issue of human trafficking. The Support, Advocacy and Resource Center sponsored the Bridge The Gap walk across the structure. The walk is part of how SARC is marking National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Throughout January, SARC will be providing education on human trafficking with partners and at community events.SARC has served more than 500 survivors of human trafficking, which the organization says is mostly made up by local women, since the program’s expansion in 2017. The organization provides essential services like a 24/7 crisis line, legal and medical advice, and on-site counseling.
