Witness spots two people running from early morning crash
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- An automatic notification system alerted 911 dispatchers of a crashed vehicle with airbag deployment on Vista Way near W. Bruneau Pl. at about 3:15am Wednesday.
A Kennewick Police officer rolled up on the scene moments later, and spoke to a witness who reported seeing at least two people running from the scene of the crash.
Officers at the scene told Newsradio 610 KONA that the SUV appeared to have been speeding east on W. Clearwater, and failed to negotiation the turn into road as the road becomes Vista Way on the east side of Highway 395.
The SUV hit the curb, took out a small tree, then collided into a light pole.
Police officers contacted the registered owner at their home, and they were surprised to find the vehicle missing.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Kennewick Police Department at 509-628-0333.
