Two injured in crash involving horse trailer
RICHLAND, Wash.-- A horse escaped uninjured in a crash in Benton County Wednesday evening.
Washington State Patrol and Benton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported crash on I-82 at the Badger Road exit near Richland at about 6:35 p.m. Wednesday.
Troopers say a 2011 GMC Sierra pulling a horse trailer, driven by Brian Baldwin, 76, Kennewick, exited the Interstate onto Badger Road, failing to yield to a Pontiac Vibe that was headed in the same direction.
The driver of the Pontiac, Joel Anderson, 22, Kennewick, and his passenger, Alyssa Ip, Eagle, Idaho, 23, were both taken to Trios Health with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
Baldwin was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way. A horse in the trailer was not injured.
