Teenaged girl injured in Pasco stabbing

A 16-year old girl is recovering from stab wounds she received in a fight Friday morning in Pasco.

Pasco Police SGT Scott Warren says officers were called out to the parking lot of the Loyalty Inn on W. Lewis St. at about 1:40 a.m. When they arrived, they didn't see anyone, but started searching the area and found a car with at least 4 teens inside. After talking to the teens, the group admitted being involved in an altercation with a man who was staying at the motel because a 16-year old girl owed him for drugs. That teen said she had been punched in the stomach during the scuffle. SGT Warren says officers determined that the girl was actually stabbed. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Meanwhile, an officer was still searching the area and found two men hiding between some parked cars near the motel. The officer went to talk to the men when they fled on foot. Both were arrested after a short foot chase.

Witnesses to the stabbing identified the pair as having been involved in the earlier confrontation. 23-year old Vance Fruitts Davis from Pasco as being the one who stabbed the victim. He's charged with 1st degree assault and possession of meth. The other man, 18-year old Dezmend Slind is charged with 4th degree assault. Both men were booked into the Franklin County Jail.
