Sand volleyball courts reopen at Leslie Groves Park

White sand, new nets and a shower off to the side, the old beach volleyball courts at Leslie Groves Park in Richland have been redone and will be opened Friday.

Recreation Coordinator Sherry Gartside says to kick off the reopening, the parks department is hosts a tournament on Saturday.

"It was time to rebuilt them and have another avenue of activity and what better way than to play sand volleyball, so that was the reason for spurring it [Rally on the River] and the need," says Gartside.

"Rally on the River" is the tournament on Saturday, with options for junior doubles (girls and boys) and then Sunday a tournament will be hosted for adults coed doubles.
