
Police searching for man who fired shots at Kennewick home
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Police in Kennewick say a bullet narrowly missed a sleeping child when a man allegedly fired a gun at a home Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2100 block of N. Steptoe in Kennewick at about 11:28 a.m. Wednesday.
The reporting party stated that they heard gunshots and heard something break in their bathroom. Investigators found several bullet holes in the home, with one round appearing to come within inches of a child who had been sleeping in the home at the time.
Officers were able to collect surveillance video from several neighbors show a light skinned man wearing a red and white stocking cap and blue jeans.
A Benton County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the suspect on the Sacajawea Trail north of the Ben Franklin Transit offices at Steptoe and Columbia Park Trail, and a K9 was brought in to try tracking the male but he has not been located.
Investigators say the victim appeared to be a targeted in the incident, and they don't believe there is any threat to general public.
