KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Kennewick Police are investigating an early morning Christmas Day burglary.


Officers responded to a report of an alarm at JC Penney at Columbia Center on Columbia Center Blvd. just before 2:00 a.m. on Christmas morning, where they found that the doors on the east end of the building had been damaged.


K-9 Ivan responded to help officers clear the building, along with deputies from the Benton County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Richland Police Department.


Investigators say they found evidence that someone had entered the store, but likely left the store before officers got to the scene.
