Last week's derailment of oil tanker rail cars at Mosier, Oregon has led to questions about rail safety.

Some have called for answers before Millenium Bulk Terminal moves forward with exporting coal to Longview by rail through the Tri Cities.

Congressman Dan Newhouse supports the plans to move 44 metric tons of coal through Washington state on an annual bases, but he says safety questions need to be answered.

"We need answers as to track safety, be certain that rail car standards are being meet," says Newhouse.

The State Department of Ecology is taking input on the plans until June 13th.
