WALLA WALLA, Wash.- The Walla Walla County Department of Community Health is opening the county's mass vaccination clinic on Saturday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Right now they're expecting to have about 1,100 does available, with the potential of having 2,300 doses and staying open until 5 p.m. depending on vaccine allocation from the state.

By that time, individuals in Phase 1B Tier 3 and 1B Tier 4 will be eligible for the vaccine. This includes people 16 years or older with two or more comorbidities or underlying conditions; all people 60 years and older; people, staff and volunteers in certain congregate living settings; group homes for people with disabilities; settings where people experiencing homelessness live or access services; high-risk critical workers in certain congregate settings: restaurants, food services, construction and manufacturing.

Starting on March 31, the Phase Finder Tool will no longer be required to verify vaccine eligibility. Instead, Walla Walla County will use the self-verification checkbox on the DCH COVID website as the sole method of eligibility verification. Everyone interested in receiving a vaccine still needs to qualify under the eligible phases of the Washington State Vaccine Distribution plan. Eligible county residents can begin scheduling appointments today, March 26 at 5 p.m.
