(Seattle, Wash.) Washington Governor Jay Inslee is set to announce Wednesday a ban on all events of more than 250 people in an effort to stem the growth of the COVID-19 Virus in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties only.

According to the Associated Press, citing a person involved in the planning of the decision, but not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, the restriction would be limited to the Seattle metro area. It would not affect large companies, or school districts.

At least 24 people have died in the state from the Coronavirus, most in the Seattle area. In fact, 19 are linked to a nursing home in Kirkland.

Late last month Inslee declared a state of emergency over the virus outbreak. There are more than 260 confirmed cases in the state, most in the three counties that would be affected by Inslee’s new order.
