George Mayor arrested on DUI, Domestic Violence charges

GEORGE, Wash.-- Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff's Office arrested the Mayor of George, Wash. after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman.

According to a press release, deputies responded to the home Tuesday morning after getting a call from a woman who reported that she had spoken to her mother, who told her that the suspect, identified as Donald Entzel, 68, George, had pointed a gun at her.

The daughter asked for deputies to check on the her mother at the George RV Park because she was no longer able to contact her, and was concerned that Entzel had taken away the victim's phone.

After deputies arrived at the RV park, Entzel pulled up in a pickup truck, and deputies say they could smell the odor of intoxicants coming from the truck’s interior and Entzel’s breath.

After initially refusing deputy commands, Entzel was taken into custody, and a handgun was recovered from his pants pocket. Deputies located the victim who confirmed that Entzel had pointed the weapon at her the night before, and was able to flee to a friend’s home.

Entzel was booked in the Grant County Jail for suspicion of DUI and first degree Domestic Assault. By Wednesday, he was no longer listed on the Grant County inmate roster as being in custody.
