Eastern WA ski resorts expect longer spring seasons

With the snowfall the area received this winter, eastern Washington ski resorts expect to stay open into the spring months.

Bluewood plans to remain open until at least the last weekend of March, citing some of the best snow in years with more than 20 feet accumulated at the ski area.

Mission Ridge has even added 8 days of operations in April, making the 2016-17 season the longest in Mission Ridge history. The extra dates are April 6, 7, 13, 14, 22, 23, 29, 30 and will be in addition to the previously scheduled 6 weekend days in April.

Officials say Mission Ridge’s biggest event of the year, the 18th Annual Dummy Downhill, presented by Banner Bank is set for March 18th. The ski and snowboard resort just above Wenatchee is in its 50th anniversary season.

White Pass expects to be open until April 15th according to its website. The area said on a Facebook post Monday it has 20 feet of snow at the base and at least 12 inches of fresh powder.
