COLLEGE PLACE, Wash.-- A Walla Walla man wanted on an active warrant faces a long list of new charges after a traffic stop last week.


A College Place Police Officer spotted a vehicle leaving the Walmart in College Place Wednesday, December 16, 2021, and recognized the driver as having an active arrest warrant for drug and theft charges.


The officer conducted a traffic stop, where David Lee Mills, 37, was taken into custody.


Investigators towed the car for evidence and applied for a warrant to search the vehicle.


Once the warrant was approved, detectives recovered a number of items from the vehicle, including:

  • 63 Fentanyl Pills
  • 85+ Grams of Methamphetamine
  • Other Unidentified Pills
  • Marijuana
  • Other Drug Paraphernalia
  • A Large Quantity of Small Baggies
  • Scales
  • 9mm Pistol
  • .380 Pistol


A check of the 9mm handgun found that it had been reported as stolen out of Columbia County.


Mills was booked into Walla Walla County Corrections facility for the warrants and new charges of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, and possession of a stolen firearm.


Additional charges may be pending.


His bail has been set at $70,000.
