Case out of Federal Way, leads Kennewick PD to several arrests & 5 puppies recovered

Kennewick police say a case out of Federal Way, led to the arrest of several people involved in three separate cases all at the same hotel.

Officers say after checking several of the motels and hotels in the area Tuesday for Federal Way Police Department with one of its cases, officers asked hotel staff to be on alert.

Kennewick police say they received a call from Quality Inn about some suspicious people Wednesday and when officers arrived one man took off running. He was arrested near Sears at the West Acres Mall. Officers say his is in custody and may have been involved in a possible prostitution case.

In their search, officers say they obtained a warrant for a different room, after determining a group had narcotics. One woman was arrested and is set to be charged with possession of narcotics.

They say the people in the room also had five five-week old puppies without their mother, which were removed by animal control. Officers say animal control is handling the case to figure out where the pups came from.

In the course of the investigation, officers started running plates in the parking lot and determined one was stolen out of Spokane. The driver was located and arrested on a DOC Felony warrant.
