SALEM, Ore.- On Monday, all Oregonians 16-years-old and older will become eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

To date, more than 1.5M people in Oregon have received at least their first dose.

"37% of Oregonians have received at least one shot, 42% of the population 16 and older have received at least one shot and nearly one million Oregonians today are fully vaccinated", Oregon Health Authority Director Patrick Allen noted.

That equates to about 23% of the state's population.

So far, about 79,000 doses of the vaccine, per day, are being administered, but that number may drop with the prolonged pause on the Johnson and Johnson version.

"Previously, we expected the Johnson & Johnson manufacturing shortfall would result in about an eight or nine day set-back in having enough doses to vaccinate all eligible Oregonians", Allen added. "Now, we are holding off on our projections for the Johnson & Johnson projections for the next month, until we know more".

That will mean 70,000 fewer doses coming into the state each week.
