PASCO, Wash. - Pasco Police and EMTs were dispatched to the intersection of 8th Ave. and Lewis St. around 8:15 Saturday night from reports of a vehicle collision involving pedestrians. When officials arrived, they found 2 juvenile females on the ground. Both were alive and transported from the scene to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Officials say the driver pulled over and was cooperating with police at the scene. It was suspected that the driver was under the influence so police did field tests. The suspect was placed under arrest and is being investigated for vehicular assault and DUI.

Sergeant Nathan Carlisle said that officers are investigating the crash and are trying to reconstruct the collision scene. A search warrant was issued for the suspect vehicle and the suspect's blood alcohol level.

UPDATE March 23, 2020: According to Sgt. Rigo Pruneda with the Pasco Police Department, the 16-year old girl who was struck was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released. The 7-year old girl was transported to a hospital in Spokane in critical condition with broken bones to her face. She was upgraded to stable condition Monday.

Rogelio Luiz Lopez, 45, was booked into the Franklin County Jail for vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
