
Weston woman found dead after crashing snowmobile
A snowmobile accident claimed the life of a Weston woman Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Umatilla Count Sheriff's Office, a family member found the woman unresponsive not far from her home in the 78000 block of Lieuallen Road in Weston.
The woman had a practice of parking her car at her mother's home on Park Creek Rd., then travel by snowmobile to her house.
Family members became concerned when she did not check in to confirm that she had made it home safely, and went to look for her.
A family member discovered the 58-year old woman unresponsive in the snow and attempted to revive her.
Because of the severe winter weather conditions at the time, a sno cat operator with Umatilla County Electric transported medics and law enforcement officers to the crash scene.
JoLynn Lieuallen was pronounced dead when medics reached the scene just before 6:00 pm.
In a press released, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office thanked snowmobile operators and Umatilla County Electric employee, Mikel Britt, for their help transporting first responders and their equipment to the scene.
