WASHINGTON STATE - Governor Jay Inslee updated the criteria for counties to stay in Phase 3 of Washington's pandemic reopening plan on Friday, April 9.

Under the original plan, counties that didn't meet criteria for case counts would be moved back to Phase 2. That meant large counties with over 200 cases per 100,000 people in a two week period would be moved back a phase.

Now, only counties that fail criteria for both case counts AND hospitalizations, over 5 hospitalizations in a 7 day period for the large counties, will be moved back a phase.

The first evaluation comes Monday, April 12, with changes taking effect on Friday, April 16. The next evaluation will happen May 3.
