BLAINE, Wash.-- Washington state biologists are working to eradicate the third Asian giant hornet nest of 2021. The state Department of Agriculture announced the discovery of the third nest on Saturday. The announcement came shortly after reports of more of the invasive hornets spotted last week. The nest was located a few miles southwest of the first nest that was found and destroyed near Blaine earlier this summer. One nest was also found near Blaine last year, making for a total of four nests found so far in Washington state.
