RICHLAND, Wash. - School officials sent a letter to students and teachers who are associated with Badger Mountain Elementary School saying that a staff member at the school has tested positive for coronavirus. The Richland School District has been working closely with the Benton Franklin Health District, to identify those students and staff members who may have come in contact with the infected staff member.

The letter states, "Only people who came in close contact—within six feet of the individuals for 10 minutes or more—have an increased risk."

The school janitors are working hard to thoroughly clean the surfaces and areas the staff member might have been connected to at the school. Officials encourage members of the community to maintain their social distance and to practice good hygiene. Check the Benton Franklin Health District website, for more information on the current regulations.
