(Benton County, WA) -- Authorities responded to multiple driving-related mishaps over the weekend. Unfortunately, more than one of them involved motorists driving under the influence.


Two separate incident s ended with drivers charged with DUI in Benton County on Saturday. First, deputies responded to W Johnson Rd just outside of Prosser for a vehicle that had flipped over. Alcohol was a factor in the accident, and the 21-year-old driver was arrested for DUI. Later that night, deputies responded to a report of a running vehicle that was blocking a roadway with the driver slumped over the wheel. It was not a crash but the 24-year-old driver was also arrested for DUI.

On Sunday night, Kennewick authorities responded to a crash at the intersection of Gage Blvd and Steptoe. Medics to find that that two occupants of an involved vehicle were deceased. The driver of the other vehicle was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, and was taken into custody for DUI. The Kennewick Police Traffic Unit is now investigating. There was a three-car collision at the intersection of Columbia Dr and Fruitland St that same night. One person was transported to the hospital. One of the drivers involved was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
