The Pierce County Council is considering a new law enforcement oversight office after Sheriff Ed Troyer's confrontation with a Black newspaper carrier back in January. Twenty-five-year-old Sedrick Altheimer was delivering newspapers when Troyer started to follow him and then called 9-1-1 claiming Altheimer was threatening to kill him. He later changed his statement.
