
Video Captures Man Setting Garage on Fire With Blow Torch

A Port Orchard man was arrested for allegedly starting a garage on fire.
A Home Surveillance Video Security System Recorded the Incident
On Tuesday, August 4th, the 47-year old Port Orchard man is seen driving up to the garage with a dog in a golf cart. The video shows the man using a blow torch and a spray cannister filled with flammable liquid to ignite the garage door frame.

A Resident Was Inside the Home When the Fire Started
Within minutes, the structure was fully engulfed, while the homeowner was inside, with NO idea as to what was happening outside. The homeowner made it out safely.
A Neighbor Witnessed the Incident and Confronted the Suspect
As the neighbor addressed the arsonist, the suspect claimed he was with the fire department. But, when pressed further, the suspect reportedly waved the lit torch at the neighbor and attempted to run him over with the golf cart.
The neighbor was able to flag down a WSP trooper who arrested the suspect within minutes.
The suspect is charged with first degree arson and second degree assault. The homeowner says he doesn't know the suspect or why his home was targeted.
Damage to the Property Is Extensive
Officials estimate the blaze caused more than $150,000 worth of damage to the structure. A vehicle valued at $25,000 was also a casualty of the fire.
