Hanford wins state cheer title
Hanford High School's cheer squad earned top honors at the WIAA State Cheerleading Championships this weekend.
The competition was held in Battle Ground, Wash Friday and Saturday.
Hanford came in first place in 3A/4A Super Large, beating out second place Tahoma and third place Bellevue.
The team's purple squad took the second place ribbon for 4A Game Day Large, falling just .75 points behind first place Tahoma.
This is the fourth year that Hanford has won the state title.
The team is scheduled to head to Orlando this week, heading to Nationals as returning World champions and National finalists from last year.
This Tuesday, the Hanford High School student body, staff, and parents will send off the cheer team off at 2:00 pm as their bus leaves, headed to Seattle where they'll catch their flight to Florida.
