(Salem, WA) -- Oregon Governor Kate Brown is facing a lawsuit over her early release of convicted felons. Brown recently granted clemency to nearly 1,000 juvenile inmates after the state legislature made changes to juvenile sentencing that were not inherently retroactive.

The lawsuit was filed by the group Common Sense for Oregon. The group includes two district attorneys and four crime victims, who say they were directly affected by the Governor's clemency decisions. They argue that she actually violated state clemency laws.

"Victims of crime in Oregon have Constitutional and statutory rights that are being ignored," said Lane County District Attorney Patty Perlow.

The governor's office released a statement saying it generally does not comment on matters of pending litigation.
