West coast state governors form shared vision pact
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Governor Jay Inslee partnered with the Governors of Oregon and California to announce a shared vision for reopening the west coast economies and controlling COVID-19 in the future.
Each state will have its own state-specific plan, but the regional pact includes three joint principals. Those principals are: Resident health is most important, health and science will guide the direction, not politics, and the west coast states will only be effective when working together to reopen the west coast economies.
The joint statement said COVID-19 doesn’t follow state or national boundaries. It will take every level of government, working together, and a full picture of what’s happening on the ground. In the coming days the governors, their staff and health officials will continue conversations about this regional pact to recovery.
