(Seattle, WA) -- A Seattle man is facing up to 20 years in prison for trying to join ISIS. According to the Justice Department, 21-year-old Elvin Hunter Bgorn Williams pleaded guilty to trying to link up with people he thought were recruiters for the terror group. He also told his family he had joined ISIS and posted a video to Facebook swearing allegiance to the group. Williams then booked an airline ticket from Seattle to Amsterdam and on to Egypt to join ISIS.


On May 28, 2021, Williams went to Sea-Tac Airport to catch the first leg of his international flight. He was arrested at the departure gate. Sentencing is set for June.
