(Olympia, WA) -- A new settlement with Purdue Pharma over the opioid crisis means an additional $113 million for Washington State. Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson led the lawsuit against the company and the Sackler family. The original settlement was thrown out, and the new settlement means Washington will get $183 million to help victims of the opioid crisis.

Oregon will get $97 million from that settlement. State AG Ellen Rosenblum says Purdue's original bankruptcy plan failed to achieve justice for millions of Americans who were the victims of the Sackler's greed.

The judge overseeing the case, however, still needs to approve the arrangements.
