Swat Team Shooting Causes Fire South Of Kennewick
A 400 acre blaze south of Kennewick was started as a result of target shooting by the Kennewick SWAT team, according to Benton County Fire District #1 Public Information Officer Devin Helland. Benton County Fire District #4 Chief Bill Whealan says such weapons-related fires are common in designated target areas. But they have had problems in undesignated areas. He says there was a similar fire in a designated shooting area off highway 225 earlier this year.
