Suspected child rapist last seen in Benton City

BENTON CITY, Wash.-- Deputies Benton County are asking for help locating a man wanted on a felony warrant for child rape.

Monday night, a deputy spotted a car driving recklessly in Benton City, and attempted to pull it over in the area of Snow Land and Highland Extension.

The driver turned off its lights and sped away.

Deputies found the car in the 2400 block of Snow Lane as the driver ran away.

The man is believed to be Alvaro Meza, 34.

Deputies called out for help from a K9, and West Richland responded to help search the area for the man, but were not able to locate him.
