Study: Fourth of July by the numbers
More people will watch fireworks on TV than in person and 86 places in the nation have patriotic names according to a Fourth of July survey by WalletHub.
Analyst Jill Gonzalez says the most surprising numbers this holiday involve food.
"We spend about $7 billion on Fourth of July food, when you break that down even further, that looks at 150 million hot dogs consumed and that is just on the fourth of July, 700 million pounds of chicken and about 200 million pounds of beef," says Gonzalez.
Interestingly, around 42% of people with go to a fireworks show, and 65% will be heading to a picnic or BBQ. The Fourth of July is also America's number one beer-drinking holiday.
