(Seattle, WA) -- Washington-based Starbucks is partnering with Volvo to launch an electric vehicle charging network. As part of the pilot program, Volvo will install as many as 60 ChargePoint DC fast chargers at up to 15 Starbucks locations between Denver and Seattle. The stations will be monitored to assess impact and potentially open the door for expansion in the future. The installations should begin this summer and are expected to be completed by the end of the year. The stations will be open to all ChargePoint account owners.

The announcement comes ahead of Starbucks' annual meeting and the same day as a pledge from the coffee giant to eventually phase out its use of disposable cups.
