Winter weather canceled several blood drives, now the American Red Cross says more donations are needed to fill the gap.

Officials say 250 Red Cross blood drives had to cancel in March, which caused a loss of about 8,500 blood and platelet donations. The Red Cross is now calling for donors, specifically for platelet and type O negative and AB blood donors.

The Director of Recruitment said in a statement, "We ask that you schedule an appointment to roll up a sleeve to help save a life in the coming days.”

The Tri-Cities Donor Center is off 447 Wellsian Way, you can find more details on the Red Cross website.
