When volunteers at the animal rescue Mikey's Chance learned that one of the dogs in their care was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor, they compiled a bucket list of things that Eddie might like to achieve in the time he has left.

Monday, Eddie became an honorary member of the Pasco Police Department's K9 unit... with Officer Julie Lee showing him the ropes.

K9 Eddie was sworn in by Pasco Police Chief Ken Roske, and then hit the road with Officer Lee, visiting various businesses.

Lee said, "Being a police officer is something I've always wanted to do, and being a K9 officer is also on my bucket list.  And so today, I get that opportunity, as well as Eddie to be that K9 officer that he's always wanted to be."
