Police searching for suspect in theft at Kennewick banks
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A man walked into the US Bank branch next to the Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick Thursday afternoon, and stole some money.

"A robbery has to include a threat of violence or actual violence to make it a robbery," said Lt. Aaron Clem with the Kennewick Police Department. "Without one of those two things it's a theft."
According to a police report, the suspect, described as an adult male with a darker complexion, beard, and wearing light clothing, approached a teller, and after brief contact, left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. Investigators say there was no force used or implied, but would not elaborate further.
Police are investigating a similar theft that happened at about 11:30 Thursday morning at the US Bank at 303 W. 1st Ave. in downtown Kennewick, and have confirmed that the same suspect was involved in that theft as well.
So far, officers haven't been able to provide any information about a possible suspect vehicle.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact non-emergency dispatch at 509-628-0333 and ask for a Kennewick Police Officer.
