One treated for smoke inhalation after kitchen fire in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A kitchen fire caused some damage at an apartment unit at the Knolls Apartments in Kennewick Sunday morning.

Crews with the Kennewick Fire Department responded to the apartments on West Grand Ronde at about 10:30 a.m. for a report of smoke coming from a unit.

Police were first on the scene and confirmed that there did not appear to be any flames, only smoke coming from food that was left on the stove.

Cpt. Brian Ellis with the Kennewick Fire Department confirmed that one person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

Officials say the fire started on the stove and was contained to the kitchen area.
