WEST RICHLAND, Wash.-- One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a 1-vehicle crash in West Richland Monday morning.

The collision happened at the intersection of Bombing Range Rd. and Austin Drive just before 9:00 a.m. when the car crashed into a utility pole, snapping it in the middle.

Sgt. Duane Olsen with West Richland Police said a female passenger in her twenties was taken to Kadlec with non-life-threatening injuries. The male driver was detained for questioning.

Officers will be on the scene for a few hours reconstructing the crash scene as part of the investigation.
