One dead in Mabton fire

MABTON, Wash.-- Firefighters found a body inside a home when then responded to a structure fire Tuesday morning.

According to officials with Yakima County Fire Dist. 5, crews arrived at the double-wide manufactured home near the intersection with State Route 241 where they found the structure fully involved in flames.

A woman who had been in the home when the fire started told crews that her boyfriend hadn't made it out before the roof caved in.

When firefighters were able to enter the structure, they found the body of the missing male in the living room area.

The victim's name has not been released at this time.

The Yakima County Fire Marshal's Office is leading the investigation into the cause of the fire.
