One Coronavirus case reported in Grant County
QUINCY, Wash.-- Confluence Health confirmed that a Grant County patient being tested for Covid-19, or coronavirus, at Central Washington Hospital has tested presumptively positive for the illness.
The patient, a Quincy resident in her 80's, is currently isolated in critical condition.
Authorities have identified four additional individuals for testing, and they are under quarantine at their homes. The patient did not appear to travel out of the country, so health officials believe they contracted the virus through contact with someone in the community.
This is the first positive test for the virus in North Central Washington, and brings the total number of cases in the state to 70, with ten deaths.
The hospital advised that staff who have been caring for the patient will be monitored appropriately.
