One arrested after high speed chase, crash in Benton City

A high speed chase with two stolen cars Wednesday ended when one of the cars crashed in Benton City.

The victim reported that a blue Subaru Legacy that had been left running in the Domino's Pizza parking lot in the 4000 block of Kennedy Rd. in West Richland had been stolen at about 6:00pm.

The victim told officers that a silver Honda Civic may be connected to the theft.

A sheriff's deputy spotted both vehicles in Benton City a short time later, and tried to pull them over. Both vehicles sped away, leading to a short chase before the Honda crashed into a fence on 9th St. near the intersection with Babs Ave. in Benton City.

Authorities told KEPR Action News that the driver of the vehicle, Carl Allstott, 35, was arrested after a short foot chase.

It was then that investigators learned that the Civic had also been reported as stolen out of Pasco.

Allstott was booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of attempting to elude and possession of a stolen vehicle, after being checked out for some minor injuries.

Kennewick Police pulled over the Legacy on Columbia Drive near S. Washington shortly after 2:00am. Two people were detained for questioning, and Christopher Curtis, 39, was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle.
