(Kennewick, WA) -- We are learning more about a shootout between a security guard and a theft suspect at a Kennewick Walmart parking lot last week. This all apparently started over Pokemon cards 31-year-old Alexander Yell was apparently trying to steal from the store. That's according to court documents that say Yell was trying to get away, pushing another Walmart employee aside as he fled. The loss prevention officer tried giving chase through the parking lot, Yell confronted the officer and brandished his weapon, getting a shot off, prompting the LPO to grab his gun and fire several rounds at the suspect, Yell was hit twice. Authorities say the guard had the right to return fire, noting he had the firearm legally, and possessed a concealed carry permit. Court documents say Yell was apparently stealing various kinds of cards, and trading them for drugs.
