UPDATE: Man charged in connection to deadly shooting in Moses Lake

A 23-year-old Moses Lake man has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of an Ephrata man Monday night.

Grant County Sheriffs Deputies say 23-year-old Jesse James is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and evidence tampering. Deputies say more charges could come depending on the investigation.

Deputies say Thomas Hernandez was found by a woman living at the home after she heard a loud noise Monday night and went to investigate.

The 21-year-old from Ephrata was found shot and lying on the living room floor and he later died. Deputies say they are talking with the woman and her adult son who lives at the home and trying to figure out what happened.

The body is in the care of Grant County Coroner and family is being notified. Kyle Foreman with the department says this does not appear to be a suicide.
