Moses Lake man could face charges for fire believed to be caused by fireworks
Moses Lake Police want charges brought against a man who set off fireworks near several homes Sunday night.
A report sent to the prosecutor’s office alleges 32-year-old Kevin Oshea started the fire.
Witnesses report one of his blasts landed in brush, starting the blaze which quickly spread toward houses and apartments in high winds.
Moses Lake Fire Captain Dave Holle says two homes and three apartments were damaged.
"Two homes got some damage to them on one side, and some decks caught fire on the apartments were damaged, and the one burned up a wall of one apartment we had to tear apart the wall of the apartment to get to the fire," says Holle.
After briefly being evacuated, residents returned to their homes and no one was hurt.
