(Redmond, WA) --Microsoft has joined the growing list of corporations that have taken action to suspend sales and services in Russia.

“Like the rest of the world, we are horrified, angered and saddened by the images and news coming from the war in Ukraine and condemn this unjustified, unprovoked and unlawful invasion by Russia,” said Microsoft President Brad Smith in an online statement.

The tech giant says stopping many aspects of its business in Russia will put it in compliance with decisions on governmental sanctions intended to penalize the country for its invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Microsoft will continue providing cybersecurity assistance to Ukraine.
