
Investigation into Wenatchee officer-involved shooting seeks more witnesses
Wenatchee Police Department released details on the timeline after an officer-involved shooting at the Albertson’s parking lot last Friday. Details regarding the officer’s actions in the moments leading up to the fatal shooting of Matthew Folden have yet to be released.
Police Captain Edgar Reinfeld released a statement Monday that noted radio calls for shots fired came at 10:09 p.m. Friday night. RiverCom dispatched fire and aid responders who were enroute by 10:10pm. Officers began rendering medical assistance, but did not perform CPR because Folden had a pulse. The first firefighter arrived on scene at 10:12pm and the first ambulance at 10:15pm. Folden was then transported to Central Washington Hospital at 10:20 where he later died.

Reinfeld said the Officer involved remains on administrative leave and won’t be named until a later date.
The Chelan County Coroner, Wayne Harris, has made notifications to next of kin and authorized the release of the suspect’s name, Matthew L. Folden, 31, of Wenatchee.
