HERMISTON, Ore.-- Investigators with the Hermiston Police Department are asking for help finding a man wanted in connection with a deadly hit and run crash that happened Tuesday morning.

Police say the incident happened at about 6:30 in the morning on May 12th, when witnesses say Tai Ly, 72, Hermiston, was walking in the roadway on SW 11th St. after several other vehicles driving through the area reported nearly hitting Ly.

A white, 2005 Honda Odyssey struck Ly, killing him.

The driver of the Odyssey got out of the van and ran away, leaving the vehicle at the scene.

Police say the driver is believed to be Loarino Marcos-Joaquin, 23, described as 5' 1" tall, 110 pounds.

Police say they're not sure why the driver fled the crash, but need to question him.
