Help Walla Walla police alongside your four-legged friend through “Dog Walker Watch”

Police are inviting the community to be their eyes and ears, while you have your canine by your side.

Vicki Ruley with the Walla Walla Police Department says the "Dog Walker Watch" program has been going on for about a year, but this is the first time partnering with the Blue Mountain Humane Society.

"People out at all hours of the day and evening walking their dogs, we teach people a little bit of personal safety, and what is suspicious, what is not suspicious and how to call it in," says Ruley.

The free class is set for Thursday, March 23rd and open to all participants, even if you don't have a dog. It will be held at the Blue Mountain Humane Society at 5:00 p.m. and your K-9's are invited to come as long if they are well-behaved.

Ruley says the class will only be open for 30 people, but the department plans to set up more in the future.
